Studio 113 Pilates
Hi! My name is Nicky, I have been teaching Pilates for more than 20 years.
I work with men and women who have lost confidence in their own bodies. Those who struggle with aches and pains and generally feel less than 100%.
Those people who feel at the mercy of their bodies. I help them learn about their amazing bodies, become pain-free and confident in loving themselves.
Studio 113 offers group and individual Pilates classes.. We have well equipped studios in Mickleton and conduct the mat classes at Honeybourne Village Hall and online
Pilates classes can be booked through our calendar and are available as “drop ins” or by memberships.
A membership is more economical, gives you access to videos and guarantees places in classes. Memberships also give you the option to sign up for our news letters and special offers.
Classes can be booked online or by contacting the studio.
I can 100% state Nicky is the best Pilates teacher I’ve ever had !
Nicky is a breath of fresh air and she helped me break my perceived limitations in what I could achieve in Pilates.
Understanding the building blocks of the approach to specific exercises has helped me to have a better experience of Pilates. The 1:1 Reformer classes have been invaluable, helping me to get into the correct positions for optimum benefit.
Nicky’s positivity and sunny enthusiasm is motivating and it’s always a joy to see her. I’d recommend Studio 113 classes to anyone thinking of getting the best out of their Pilates sessions.
Pilates, a form of low-impact exercise focusing on strength, flexibility, and overall body awareness, offers numerous benefits that contribute to both physical and mental well-being. Here are some key advantages of incorporating Pilates into your fitness routine:
Core Strengthening
Pilates emphasises the development of core muscles, including the abdominals, lower back, and pelvic floor. Strengthening these muscles leads to better posture, reduced back pain, and enhanced stability. A strong core supports daily activities and other physical exercises, improving overall functional fitness.
Flexibility & Balance
Pilates exercises involve a full range of motion, which helps improve flexibility. Increased flexibility enhances athletic performance and reduces the risk of injuries. Pilates also promotes better balance and coordination, essential for preventing falls and maintaining independence, particularly as we age.
Low Impact & Gentle on Joints
Pilates is a low-impact exercise, making it suitable for people of all fitness levels, including those recovering from injuries or suffering from chronic pain conditions like arthritis. The controlled movements of Pilates are gentle on the joints, minimising the risk of strain and injury.
Improved Posture
By focusing on alignment and core strength, Pilates helps correct posture issues caused by prolonged sitting and poor habits. Better posture reduces the likelihood of developing musculoskeletal problems and enhances overall body mechanics.
Mental Health Benefits
Pilates incorporates mindful movements and deep breathing, promoting relaxation and reducing stress levels. The concentration required during Pilates practice enhances mental clarity and focus, contributing to improved mood and overall mental health.
Enhanced Body Awareness
Pilates encourages a strong mind-body connection. Practitioners become more aware of their movements and how their bodies function, leading to better control and efficiency in daily activities and other forms of exercise.
Versatility and Adaptability
Pilates can be tailored to individual needs and fitness levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. It offers a wide range of exercises and modifications, ensuring everyone can benefit regardless of their physical condition.
Incorporating Pilates into your fitness routine can lead to improved physical health, mental well-being, and a greater sense of body awareness, making it a valuable practice for lifelong health and fitness.
